SCOUTING SCHOOL

With today's farm economy, good management is absolutely necessary. Attending the Delta Center is just another way to "fine tune" farm management. A scouting class starts on March 6 and goes through March 31, nightly from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. One good tip could pay for the class many times over. The course covers techniques on the production of the leading crops in the area, insects, diseases, herbicides, irrigation, and soil fertility. One always gets more out of a small class and this year's class is small. Don't miss this opportunity to improve your skills. To enroll call Ray Nabors at 573-333-0258.

TWO AND THREE YEAR YIELD AVERAGES

We recommend that you look at the two year averages for the variety testing. Plant a strip on you good ground, with your chosen variety, and using your farm practices to make sure our top yielders will work well on your farm. Varieties may perform well one year but not consistantly.

The Portageville silt loam and Senath trials had late planting dates in 1999.
