Delta Center Annual Field Day
The Annual Delta Center Field Day will be held on August 31 at the Lee
farm east of Portageville. Tours will run from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00
p.m. The farm is located two miles south of Portageville and five
miles east at the intersection of highways T and TT.
It’s been a great decade
I will be retiring in August at crop cutout. It has been a pleasure
writing these newsletters and I hope that they have aided in making
your farming decisions. My intent has been to supply information you
could use to make your cotton more successful. Missouri has been a
wonderful place to work. It is great cotton country. It has been a
joy to work with so many fine people in agriculture over the years.
There is a certain camaraderie that the cotton industry has that is
something very special. It is so well demonstrated at the Beltwide
Cotton Conferences where every part of the industry is so well
represented. I have so many great memories of the cotton business
from the farming, industry and the extension side, all of which I have
been a part. However I hear the call of giant bass and will be moving
near Lake Fork, Texas. Fishing for bass is even more of a gamble than
farming. I hope all of you have a great year.
