The Gaylord Laboratory

The Gaylord Laboratory is a cooperative venture with the Missouri Department of Conservation. The Laboratory program focuses on field research relating to wetland and waterfowl ecology and management throughout North America. Locally, 28,000 acres of publicly-owned lands are used as an outdoor laboratory. Current programs include development of an expert system for moist-soil management and studies on the breeding ecology of wood ducks.
