Tours and Events
A primary goal of the Center for Agroforestry is to educate and inform
landowners and natural resource professionals about new research in
agroforestry, and to demonstrate how this can be applied successfully to their
operations. The UMCA Technology Transfer team works side-by-side with
landowners, resource professionals and extension agents from across the state,
and the Midwest, through on-site consultations, educational workshops and
informational exhibits - many of these events are hosted at the 660-acre HARC
farm. Click here to learn more about upcoming outreach
events.
How do I arrange a tour of HARC?
The Center for Agroforestry welcomes groups to learn more about our exciting
work. Due to the seasonal nature of the farm's diverse list of ongoing projects,
we request that you call ahead to arrange a group visit and tour.
To discuss your visit, call 660-848-2268 and speak with either Nancy Bishop
(bishopn@missouri.edu) or Ray
Glendening, Farm Manager (glendeningr@missouri.edu).
You are cordially invited to an excellent showcase of the farm's research, and
its potential for Midwestern land and forest owners, every October at the annual
Missouri Chestnut Roast. Guided tours, agricultural exhibits and dozens of
Missouri value-added, specialty food vendors - along with fresh-roasted
chestnuts - make this a great day for the whole family.
