In Memoriam
Dr. Norman Justus, age 83, of Mt Vernon, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009. Dr. Justus was born January 1, 1926 near Marionville, MO and graduated from Verona High School in 1943. He retired as Captain from the U.S. Navy, serving during WW II and the Korean Conflict.
Dr. Justus received degrees from Univ. of Arkansas and Oklahoma State Univ. He was a Research Agronomist with USDA for seven years. But most of you will remember Norman as the first Superintendent of the SW Center, serving 23 years in that capacity before retiring in 1988.
