| New
deadline for
grant submissions
In working
with the new PS Grants system we are discovering that "it
just takes longer." Hopefully speed will improve over time.
In order to meet campus and agency deadlines, all standard proposals
should be submitted to Martha Jones' office five working days
prior to the deadline. This one additional day will allow time
to review the proposal and complete the PS module. Please don’t
hesitate to call Martha at 882-0095 with any questions. We are
ALL learning!

People
Soft Grants Module is here!
The PeopleSoft
Grants Module went live on December 16, 2002. We are now entering
all proposals into the system. As we have discussed in previous
issues, all personnel must complete the training for PeopleSoft
Grants in order to have access to the module.
Faculty members
are welcome to attend the classroom training session but a web-based
training has been developed and is available. It can be accessed
through —
asp.umsystem.edu/Training/training
This training
will be sufficient to enable faculty the access they need. While
staff will have access to the web-based training, they must attend
the classroom training sessions in order to receive access to
the PS Grants Module. To sign up for classroom training go to
—
iats.missouri.edu/iats/servlet/ASPRegTraining
We strongly
encourage everyone to either complete the on-line training or
attend the classroom training.
Once you start
on this help is available! OSPA has developed a “Rapid Response"
team to assist faculty and staff in working with this module.
If you have problems in navigating within the PS Grants panels
you can call for assistance.
The team can
be reached through OSPA at 882-7560. If they cannot solve the
problem within a few minutes over the phone a member of the team
will come to your office to assist in solving the problem.
Office
of Research orientation workshop Feb. 20
The Office
of Research has scheduled its next orientation workshop for new
faculty for February 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Adams Conference
Center, Veterinary Medicine Building. We will appreciate your
help in avoiding scheduling conflicts that would prevent new faculty
from attending and in getting the word out on this. Besides new
faculty, we've found that some departments like to have their
grants personnel attend one of these workshops to learn about
campus processes and services.
